Theme: Music
“Full-Plectrum Dominance” is a bold, layered tribute to the one and only Jimi Hendrix — a guitarist who didn’t just change the game, he set it on fire. The phrase riffs on “full-spectrum dominance,” a military term for total control, but here it's reimagined for the battlefield of sound. With Hendrix at the centre, it’s about creative supremacy — how he bent the rules of music and turned a humble plectrum into a weapon of expression. Although, sometimes he even dispensed with the plectrum in quite novel ways. The design features three plectrums in red, white, and blue, a nod to Hendrix’s American roots and his transatlantic legacy — from Monterey to London. It also hints at the colours of cultural revolution, rebellion, and reinvention. Anchoring the piece is one of Hendrix’s most iconic lyrics: “’Scuse me while I kiss the sky.” It’s the perfect blend of surrealism and soul, dream and defiance. This isn’t just a design for Hendrix fans — it’s for anyone who believes in the power of turning noise into meaning. The colours pop, the message stings, and the vibe? Pure electric.
